This is a great hydrophone recording I made last week in the local Mooste lake. The sun was shining brightly so the plants were giving off plenty of oxygen. There are also a number of squeaks and buzzes I cannot yet identify. The hydrophone is made by the avid field recordist Jez riley French who spent a few weeks in the MoKS residency. I can reccomend these hydrophones for those who want to try out under water recordings and are on a budget (yes, this is a small but honest advertisement for Jez’s product which he sells to help fund concert events he organizes).

Your great recording is out of our imagination! Thank you for your comment.
I’m looking for a low price hydraphone for my grand son,for a school project.
The hydrophones made by Jez are reasonably priced. They were used for this recording. Hydrophones can also be made with simple piezo transducers in a proper sealed enclosure.
Hi, I was just wondering if you used a preamp with the mic?
For this recording I used a FEL mic amp run into an Edirol R-09 digital recorder.
GREAT RECORDING!!!I just ordered these hp’s from Jez.I’m going to record both underwater and outward sondscapes with my handy recorder.
