“trace effects, crystalline particles” is the first piece in a series of works made from a single camera shot and a single audio (field) recording. No generative or digital effects were used in the recording or editing process. The emphasis of the ‘trace effects’ series is on spontaneity the open ended associations and interpretations experienced by the viewer rather than conveying a constructed meaning by the author. Each of the captured momentary sounds and images could be seen or heard on their own but are instead combined as unprocessed takes that form a new audio-visual composition.
